Politico- NRCC poll: Graham leads for Senate, among North Florida Dems

Rep. Gwen Graham’s best path for staying in Washington would be to run for U.S. Senate, according to poll numbers from the National Republican Congressional Committee.

TALLAHASSEE — Rep. Gwen Graham’s best path for staying in Washington would be to run for U.S. Senate, according to poll numbers from the National Republican Congressional Committee, which worked unsuccessfully to defeat the Tallahassee Democrat in her 2014 race.

The NRCC poll found Graham losing to a generic Republican candidate in the redrawn version of her 2nd Congressional District by a 49-40 margin. The current district was essentially erased as lawmakers work to redraw the state’s congressional lines, which were ruled unconstitutional by the Florida Supreme Court.

The NRCC poll also looked at Graham’s standing in the proposed 5th Congressional District, which is represented by Jacksonville Democrat Corrine Brown.

In that race, the poll found Graham trailing Brown by a wide 53-29 margin, with 18 percent undecided.
