A recently released poll shows races for York County commissioner and Court of Common Pleas judge to be tightening up.

A recently released poll shows races for York County commissioner and Court of Common Pleas judge to be tightening up.

The Republican-leaning pollster Harper Polling also pitted Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf against Republican state Sen. Scott Wagner in a hypothetical election. Fifty-three percent said they'd cast their votes for Wagner while 40 percent said they favored Wolf winning a second term, according to the poll.

Twenty-seven percent of those polled said they'd vote for incumbent Republican Commissioner Chris Reilly; 25 percent for GOP challenger Susan Byrnes; 20 percent for Democratic incumbent Doug Hoke; 14 percent for incumbent Steve Chronister, who is running as an independent; and 7 percent for Henry Nixon. Seven percent weren't sure who they'd vote for, according to the poll.

Voters will cast two votes for judge, and 31 percent of pollees said Chris Menges, who's running as a Republican, would earn their first vote, while 30 percent would vote for Kathleen Prendergast, a registered Republican who's on the Democratic ballot, and 29 percent would vote for Mike Flannelly, who received enough primary votes to appear on the Republican and Democratic ballots. Nine percent weren't sure who they'd vote for.
