Civitas Institute North Carolina March 2019 Survey
In a survey conducted March 14 - 17, 2019, North Carolina voters are split in their opinion regarding the future of the electoral college. A plurality of voters (47%) would prefer to move to a national popular vote, while 43% prefer to maintain the electoral college system for Presidential elections.
Support for a national popular vote erodes, however, when voters are presented with a specific policy proposal. 55 percent of likely voters oppose legislation that would establish a national popular vote via interstate compact.
